These are the terms for using FilmScout. They are short because the service is simple: you follow filmmakers, keep lists, and find out what is coming. Using FilmScout means you agree to them.
Who can use it
Anyone aged 13 or over. One account per person, with an email address you can receive mail at. Keep your sign-in to yourself; what happens through your account is yours.
What FilmScout is
A way of following the people who make films and television, built on data from TMDB, The Movie Database. Release dates, credits and streaming availability come from TMDB and, for availability, from JustWatch through TMDB. We show it as accurately as we can, but dates move, titles are renamed, and what is streaming changes by the day. Check before you make plans around it. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Your content
Your lists, notes, profile text and photo are yours. By putting them on FilmScout you let us store and display them as part of the service: public lists to anyone, unlisted ones to people with the link, private ones to you alone. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to, anything that targets or harasses a person, or anything unlawful. We may remove content that breaks this, and accounts that keep doing it.
Fair use of the service
Use FilmScout as a person would. Do not scrape it, flood it with automated requests, probe it for weaknesses, or try to get at other people's accounts or private lists. If you find a security problem, tell us at elioncho@gmail.com and give us a chance to fix it.
Cost and changes
FilmScout is free. We may add, change or retire features, and we may have to pause or stop the service; if we ever stop it for good we will say so by email first, with time for you to take your lists with you.
No warranty
FilmScout is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from using it or from relying on the information in it. Nothing here limits rights the law gives you that cannot be limited.
Ending things
You can stop using FilmScout at any time, and have your account deleted by writing to elioncho@gmail.com. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
Law
FilmScout is run from Colombia and these terms are governed by Colombian law. If a part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and we say so in the monthly email. Continuing to use FilmScout after that means you accept the new terms.
